Employment Generation Awareness Camp at Savitri Polytechnic for Women

Faridabad: -(zeeharyana.com/SunitaSharma)   Khadi & Village Industries Board (KVIB) Panchkula conducted an Awareness Generation Campunder Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Program (PMEGP) at the premises of Savitri Polytechnic for Women, NIT Faridabad on 26 th November.

The event was inaugurated by the institute’s Chairman Shri S N Duggal by lighting a lamp in the presence of Principal Kamlesh Shah, and the representatives of Khadi & Village Industries Board, Shri Balvinder Singh, Narendra Singh, Sohanpal, Anil Dalal, and Manjeet Dabbas while 100 students of the institute also attended the event.

Explaining the importance of the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Program, Balvinder Singh highlighted that this program is very useful for the students as they can take advantage of the opportunities in the micro and small scale industries sector for which they have to make an online application. He added that for establishing a small scale industry in the rural and urban area, they can get up to 35% subsidy. This program also helps an entrepreneur with a sum of Rs Twenty Five lacs for setting up a manufacturing industry while it provides Rs Ten lacs for setting up a service industry through the banks. Mr Singh also provided useful information regarding various types of support offered by KVIB for running an enterprise such as training in marketing and management techniques. He added that Khadi Gramodyog will provide all its facilities, resources and support for
exhibition of their goods to help those enterprises associated with it particularly in the field of sales.

Duggal said that the choice of this institute as the venue for this camp revealed the importance of the education and training that it provides in its vocational courses and the resolve of government organisations such as Khadi Gramodyog to boost the employment potential of students and to provide immense support for those who wish to become entrepreneurs by providing plenty of facilities.
