Chandigarh, Dec 18 –(zeeharyana.com/Sunita Sharma) In Haryana, the third round of Intensified Mission Indradhanush (IMI) has been launched today with a target of covering 90 per cent children and women.
This was disclosed by Principal Secretary, Health Department, Mr. Amit Jha while presiding over review meeting of State Task Force, here today.
He said that 2,194 sessions were held in the second round of IMI from November 7, 2017 in which 19,550 children and 4,820 pregnant women were vaccinated and 3,814 children were fully immunized. Similarly, in the first round which was held from October 7, 2017, 2,747 sessions were held, 32,443 children and 8,230 pregnant women were vaccinated and 7,563 children were fully immunized.
Mr. Jha said that the IMI was launched in four districts of the state namely Mewat, Palwal, Faridabad and Urban
Gurugram on October 7, 2017. The programme was launched by Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi from Gujarat and Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal from Gurugram and Ambala.
Speaking on the occasion, Mission Director, National Health Mission, Mrs. Amneet P. Kumar said that the State would conduct Measles Rubella vaccination campaign in April-May 2018 in which about 90 lakh children between nine month and 10 years of age will be vaccinated.
